Problem Statement

The manager of a cafeteria is interested in finding ways that technology can help him or her to make a more efficient job in managing the cafeteria. Particularly, the manager wants to create a set of accurate data for inventory that would help him or her understand the information involved with managing the cafeteria--such as what food there is in stock, the service performance of the employees, the efficiency of the service provided in the cafeteria etc. Also, the manager wants to use technology to help him or her make better decisions about how much food to prepare.

Day 1: Discussion on how to use technology to improve the service efficiency of the cafeteria. Explore various possibilities. Make a decision based on chosen criteria.

Days 2 and 3: Construct the database for inventory and the point of sale cash register.

Days 4 and 5: Use the point of sale-cash register, make the data available to students at other schools for analysis and feedback.
