Lesson Structure and Evaluation


1. Goals:
Explore the geometry behind the construction of a base plate for a video game.
Transfer blueprint to graph paper and identify coordinates of critical points around the base plate
Correspond with students at Davea and use the mail form to send coordinates to the milling class.

2. Materials:  
Internet access
E-mail access
Geometer's Sketchpad

3. Suggested time line:
1st Day--Explore the geometry behind the construction
2nd Day--Go to the computer lab and download the templates and other resources from the Internet.
3rd Day--Transfer blueprint to graph paper and identify coordinates of critical points around the baseplate.
4th and 5th Days--Groups correspond with students at Davea and use the mail form to send coordinates to the milling class.


4. Evaluation:
On-going through the problems suggested on the homepage
Discuss the results with your group. Review the procedures you followed
Successful completion of transfering blueprint to graph paper and identifying coordinates of critical points around the base plate.
Successful completion of the base plate according to the coordinates sent to the milling class
