Dual-Range Force Sensor

The Dual-Range Force Sensor is a general-purpose device for measuring forces.   It can be used as a replacement for a hand-held spring scale.  The Force Sensor can measure both pulls and pushes from .01 newtons to 50 newtons.

Use the Dual-Range Force Sensor to:
  • study force and impulse during collisions
  • study simple harmonic motion
  • monitor frictional force
  • study Hooke's law
  • monitor the thrust of model rocket engines
  • measure the force on a dynamics cart at the same time you monitor acceleration
  • measure the force required to lift a known weight using simple machines
  • measure the heat of vaporization of liquid nitrogen
