2018 Engineering Open House

The 2018 Engineering Open House (EOH) is taking place this Friday and Saturday, March 9th - 10th. Some of the MSTE crew will be at EOH in partnership with the Cyber Resilient Energy Delivery Consortium (CREDC) in the Coordinated Science Lab Studio (CSL Studio). They will be demonstrating a Raspberry Pi that runs a trivia game where the contestants answer the questions by texting their response to the Pi. They will also be discussing cyber security and green energy as well as showing off some of their other projects. Exhibits are open from 9:00am to 4:00pm on Friday and 9:00am to 12:00pm on Saturday.

Register today to participate in the sixth annual Community & Campus Day of Service! On Saturday, April 14th, you can join in to package 151,000 ready-to-boil meals that will be delivered to Eastern Illinois Foodbank. Each volunteer shift lasts an hour and a half and includes one hour of work on the meal packaging lines. This event is family-friendly and seated food packaging positions are available. Sign up today to help us fight hunger in our community!

Spring 2018 MSTE Friday Lunch - Exponential Educators: How Can Education Match the Speed of Innovation?

We are back this week with the first MSTE Friday Lunch of the 2018 Spring semester! 2018 marks the 25thanniversary of the MSTE Office, and this semester’s speakers will all be MSTE alumni and former partners! Our first speaker will be Mikkel Storaasli.

About the Talk: It's been said that we are living in exponential times, based on how rapidly (exponentially) technology is changing, and how equally rapidly society is changing. What are the qualities we should look for in teachers to ensure students are prepared for the world they're facing?

The sixth annual Community & Campus Day of Service has been scheduled for Saturday, April 14, 2018! Join us and help to package 151,000 meals - one for each year since the University has been chartered - that will be distributed to local food banks to fight hunger in our community. Save the date now and check back in mid February for information on how to register!
