Introduction to Regression

This lesson utilizes Microsoft Excel 5.0 and the Web to introduce the ideas behind linear regression. The lesson contains two Excel workbooks which you'll download later. To download these properly, you must set-up your browser to recognize the files as Excel files. Instructions are available to set-up your browser if you do not know how.

The Excel files are for the most part self-explanatory. You do not need to know how to use Excel to do this lesson! There are only three types of interfaces for the students to know.

One is entering numbers into highlighted cells.

Another is clicking on buttons that look as such.

All you need to do is click the button and it will do what it says in its label.

Last, to change worksheets in a workbook, the student needs to click on the appropriate sheet in the bottom-left corner of the Excel screen. It will look similar to this.

This will take you to a new, previously prepared worksheet.

Have fun!
