Cabri Java Project
CabriReader application

With an aim of facilitating the creation of HTML files using the CabriJava applet, an application written in Java called CabriReader is available in version beta 2. Before seeing how to implement it under various systems, present its functionalities:
At launching of the application, a dialog proposes to choose a CABRI file produced by the application CABRI geometry II. These files must be produced beforehand on the local disc of the user or be downloaded from the Web site which you want to edit. In this last case, it is advised to place on its disc a copy of work of the site identical to the original. Thus the names and files will be the same ones locally and on the site and no illegal reference to a non-existent file should occur. For the same reasons, it is advised to use only alphanumeric characters in the file names or folders.

If the figure is well recognized like a CABRI II figure, the CABRI figure opens through CabriJava and is handled like the applet, with in addition to the possibilities of displacement and redimensioning.

Two menus are proposed:

Other parameters can be placed interactively like animations, traces, position of figure, size of zone of applet... As for applet, a double-clic set visible the bar of tools which make it possible to carry out the desired adjustments, but in this release some commands are available in the Edit menu also.. Not to forget to erase this bar (by double-clicking) before backing up HTML file if not it would be present during the display of the applet in HTML page.

How to download this version beta of the CabriReader application ?

Several cases (even if Java is multiplateformes...) :

java - CP CabriReader.jar CabriReader

in the folder where this CabriReader.jar archive was downloaded. You can also create a command file CabriReader.bat containing the unique command line above and save this file in the same folder as CabriReader.jar archive.A double clic on this file will launch CabriReader.
Afflicted for this difficult installation, but Microsoft does nothing to support the distribution of Java applications of its Sun rival... For Linux, this method will not discourage the linux gurus which are accustomed there...
