FUTURE Foundation Volunteers, Spring 2009

A total of 15 students were reported on in Fall 2008 and 12 students in Spring 2009.

Teacher/volunteer was asked, Has this student..

YesNo
Had a positive attitude toward school/after school program?
Improved in coming to after school program ready/prepared to learn?
Improved in being attentive?
Improved in getting along well with other students?

Each student is assigned a score of 1 for yes, and 0 for no, for each of the four aspects of attitude. The chart below shows the proportion of Yes scores for Fall 2008 and Spring 2009.

As the chart suggests, there was somewhat of an improvement in volunteer ratings, in terms of attitude and getting along.

Teacher/volunteers were also asked to report the subject on which each student spent most time during the after school program. In Fall 2008 English/reading was reported studied most while in Spring 2009, mathematics was reported being most studied.
