Bethel Community Center Parent Survey Fall 2009

The parents' opinions on the After School Tutoring/Homework Help Program were obtained through a survey.

Responses were received for 22 students, with data complete for 12 students, as noted in the table below. There were 6 males and 6 females in the latter group.

Year in School
Gender 9 10 11 Total
Male 2 1 3 6
Female 2 2 2 6
Total 4 3 5 12

The parents were asked of their child (children):

  1. As a result of the after school program, does s/he look forward to school?
  2. As the table and graph below show:

    • 16 parents responded 'yes' to the question.

  3. The parents were also asked:

  4. As a result of the program, is your child doing better in school?

As the table and graph below show:

  • The majority of parents (12 out of 19) responded 'yes'

The parents were also asked to state in what subject their child, as a result of the program, was doing better.

As the chart shows, parents reported that their child was doing better in English. However, an equal number reported that their child was doing better in all subjects.
