Reports on grades in mathematics for REFs and Non-REFs students: Spring2005

Third quarter grades in mathematics for the Summer 04 REF students were compared with freshmen who were NOT in Summer 04 REF (Honors and IEP students were excluded from the latter sample).

The graph shows the distribution of grades in mathematics for the two groups: REF and non-REF:

Group * Mathematics Grade Spring 05 Crosstabulation

Mathematics Grade Spring 05
EDCBATotal
GroupREF143145339
Non REF1031727195171
Total1172041248210

The difference between the means (average Third Quarter graphs in mathematics) is statistically significant, in favor of the REF group, at the .01 level.

The graph shows the distribution of grades in mathematics for the tow groups: REF and non-REF:

These findings are similar to those for First Quarter Grades in mathematics, Fall 2004
