Opinions on the After School Tutoring/Homework Help Program

Thirty-six parents responded to the survey, with data complete for 24 students. The students are classified by gender and year in school as in the table below.

The parents were asked the number of students having attended the After School/Tutoring program last year as well as the current year. Results are graphed below.

Parents were asked:

  • As a result of the program, does your (she or he) child look forward to going to school?

As the graph below indicates, nearly 30 of the parents responded, ‘Yes’, with 3 undecided and 2 stating ‘No.’

  • My child and I talk about the After School Tutoring/ Homework Help Program

As the graph below indicates, 25 of the parents responded, ‘Yes’, with 4 undecided and 5 stating ‘No.’

As a result of the program, my child is doing better in.. (what subject)

As the above graph indicates, English is mentioned far more frequently as the subject in which the students are doing better as a result of the program.

These comments were offered by the parents about the program.

The program has helped her/him in the following ways:

  • Helped her learn the language better (Italian)
  • Helps her to be a more "participating" student.
  • Keeps his grades up
  • Understand more of the language
  • Read directions and take time on papers
  • She looks forward to being in school and learns more. She is very cooperative person/eager to learn
