It’s time for another MSTE Friday Lunch! Brian Fields will be joining us this Friday to talk about the 2017 total solar eclipse!

About the Talk: The 2017 total solar eclipse was likely the most viewed in human history, and was a spectacular moment of public engagement and interest in astronomy and science in general. Illinois Astronomers took full advantage of this opportunity, and members of the AstroIllini outreach group will demonstrate hands-on activities. Moreover, eclipses also provide unique laboratories. Brian will discuss two examples of eclipse-based science that have changed the face of physics and astronomy: testing Einstein's General Relativity theory, and discovering planets around other stars.

Topic: Eclipses as Heavenly Laboratories: Launching Revolutions in General Relativity and Exoplanets

When: Friday, September 29th, 2017, from 12:00-1:00pm

Where: 505 E Green St, Classroom 201, Champaign, IL 61820

All are welcome, but please don’t forget to RSVP via the MSTE Friday Lunch website!
